Topic 1

About the support

01 Who is this support for?

Support is available for children, teenagers and young adults up to the age of 25, particularly those experiencing difficulties with emotional wellbeing, anxiety, stress, confidence, self-esteem or managing everyday challenges.

02 What types of support do you provide?

Support can include anxiety and stress management, emotional regulation, confidence and self-esteem building, mindfulness, creative activities and individual intervention strategies, tailored to the young person’s needs.

03 What is an individual intervention?

Individual intervention is a personalised approach based on the young person’s individual needs, strengths and goals. Sessions may combine conversation, practical coping strategies, mindfulness, reflection and creative activities.

04 How can mindfulness help young people?

Mindfulness can help young people become more aware of their thoughts and emotions and develop practical ways to manage stress, emotional overwhelm and difficult feelings.

05 What is mindfulness-based art?

Mindfulness-based art combines creative activities such as drawing, painting and visual expression with mindfulness techniques. It can provide a safe and enjoyable way for young people to explore emotions and express themselves without relying solely on words.

Topic 2

Sessions & family involvement

06 Can you support young people with ADHD or autism?

Support can be adapted for young people with ADHD, autism and other SEND needs, taking into consideration their individual communication, learning, emotional and cognitive needs.

07 Can parents or carers be involved?

Yes. Where appropriate, parents and carers can be involved in the support process. This can help families better understand a young person’s needs and develop positive ways of supporting their wellbeing while respecting the young person’s independence and confidentiality.

08 How long does a session last?

Sessions can be tailored according to the young person’s age, needs and circumstances. An initial discussion can help determine an appropriate session length and frequency.

Topic 3

Scope & next steps

09 Is this a replacement for NHS or specialist mental health services?

No. This service provides wellbeing and individual support but is not a replacement for specialist medical, psychological or emergency services. Where a young person’s needs require additional or specialist support, appropriate signposting or referral will be recommended.

10 How do I find out if this support is suitable for my child?

You can get in touch to discuss your concerns and the type of support you are looking for. An initial conversation provides an opportunity to understand the young person’s needs and consider whether the service is appropriate.

Every young person is different. The aim is to provide a safe, supportive and individualised approach that helps them understand themselves, develop practical coping skills and build confidence for everyday life.
